I stayed at Mr. Takeo’s guesthouse for three nights. It is a very carefully maintained traditional Japanese wooden house, clean and full of unique character. Bookshelves, calligraphy, stained glass, and handmade crafts make it feel like an art museum you can live in.
The neighborhood near Nezu Station is very convenient, with many restaurants from all over the world and delicious desserts. It is also close to the University of Tokyo, Ueno Park, museums, and old temples — perfect for slow walks and cultural exploration.
Mr. Takeo is a high school teacher of philosophy and ethics who has traveled to many countries. He prepares breakfast and takes good care of his guests with sincere hospitality. I enjoyed talking with him — he shared many stories that made my short stay even more special.
I hope to study more Japanese and visit again someday to talk more deeply and learn more from him. I wish Mr. Takeo good health and happiness until we meet again.

Takeo is the host of your dreams, never have I imagined someone would live up to their role in such a way. Him, his house and neighbourhood made our Tokyo stay unforgettably perfect.

Takeo was proactive from the time we booked two rooms for the three of us.
He sent photos of his arty space, weather reports for the area, and things he thought we might like to do while here.
He consistently went out of his way to ensure an easy and pleasant stay. From the fresh fruit and raisin bread each morning for breakfast to talking to a nearby restaurant chef so we got a seat, he always tried to help and engage in conversation. He even hailed a cab for us when it was time to leave.
Nezu is a neighborhood that didn’t get bombed in WW2 and the buildings are old and traditional. It’s a fantastic area.
His place is very authentic and filled with character and charm.
You will really feel how special Japan and old Tokyo is in Takeo’s amazing Airbnb.
Arigato!

Takeo-San’s place is well located for jumping into Tokyo.

Takeo-San was very helpful, offering to keep our bags safe at his place when we travelled to Kyoto for a few days, and helping me with the laundry. He was keen to show us the local area and is kind, generous and friendly which makes him an ideal host for travellers who would like a more guided experience of Tokyo.
The flip side of this approach means that a stay at Takeo-San’s place is more like a cross between staying at a tightly run B&B guest house or staying with a family friend. Takeo-san lives in the house, and will proactively make himself available in the morning and when you come back at the end of the day, so we sometimes needed a conversation to manage expectations on both sides as you could feel TOO looked after!
As per his description, there is a curfew and you need to be quiet at night - the wooden house amplifies sound, which combined with neighbourhood noise and jet lag could make sleeping tricky.

Takeo is a wonderful host and kind man. He made us feel right at home, making us a delicious breakfast first thing in the morning and chatting with us about our daily plans. Taking to him was a highlight of our stay. He knows everything about the area: the history highlights, the best food, and the most memorable spots. All three of us went on a trip to the shrine for new years, and had a wonderful day in Enoshima and Kamakura. Takeo made sure we would remember it always as the best day of our trip by far.
He's the best host we've ever had the pleasure of staying with- always accommodating of our itineraries, and concerned with our health and wellbeing. The house is homey and comfortable with plenty of space and convenient to Nezu station. All the benefits of location and space pale in comparison to the host, though. The next time one of us is in Tokyo, there is no question who we will be staying with. Thank you for an unforgettable trip, Takeo!
Vivi & Zoe

Takeo is the most beautiful person we've met in Japan! He was incredibly kind to my baby Suzanne and me and helped us as if we were members of his family. I am extremely grateful to him. It marked our trip to Japan. We keep all the photos taken together as a souvenir ☀️

The trip to Tokyo was very pleasant and pleasant to stay at the home of the Busho.Mr. Wu's house is a single-family house in Tsujin, with a lot of flowers on the doorstep. It is very close to the subway station and convenience store, and there are many gourmet restaurants nearby. He provided us with two rooms. We just arrived in Japan and tooko came to the station to pick us up.Every morning he prepared us for breakfast and every evening he waited for us to come home and gave us certain suggestions for traveling. On one of the rainy days, he also took us around Tokyo University, Nezu Shrine and other places to take pictures for us.Finally when we left Tokyo he also gave us a ride and helped us pay for it.All in all, thank you Mr. Takeo, it was a very pleasant stay!I look forward to seeing you next time!

Our stay went well, Professor Takeo is really attentive to these guests which is appreciable. Nezu is a quiet but lively neighborhood, which we really enjoyed. This neighborhood also makes many of Tokyo's iconic neighborhoods very accessible.

Takeo-san was a great host who provided me with breakfast each day, a bike tour of the area, and great recommendations. He was very friendly and willing to help whenever needed. Just be aware that his style of doing things is a little more rigid like his 11 pm curfew. I think he is definitely upfront about these understandings so please read the listing carefully.

Communication was well managed and 武男 is very attentive and caring. The metro is just a few minutes away, there is a lot of nice cafè, restaurants and markets around too. Highly recommend spot :)

Takeo-San is so kind and helpful! He went out of his way to help us navigate Tokyo and shared with us his many travels! It was our second return to Tokyo in one trip and the Nezu area is so nice we wish we could have stayed longer. Takeo-san's home was comfortable and private it was a nice change of pace from the Tokyo chaos.

I can only warmly recommend a stay atTakeo if you need to stay in Tokyo. 5 min walk to Nézu subway and 20 min to Ueno Station. Near Ueno Park, with its zoo, the national museum and the beautiful Toshobu Shrine temple.
Takeo is an adorable, helpful man who serves you breakfast with delicious grape bread and a plate of fruit. He did not hesitate to accompany you on the first day and played the guide with kindness.

Mr. Takeo's house is located in a quiet neighborhood not far from Nezu Station. You can walk to Nezu Shrine, Ueno Park, Ueno Zoo, Tokyo National Museum, National Museum of Western Art, and there are also some small restaurants nearby. It's very convenient to get around. The house is tidy and clean, and there are many stained glass paintings, which is a big feature of the house. Takeo is a very good host, smooth communication, and personally picked me up at the station, prepared delicious and nutritious breakfast every day, and adjusted and matched it from time to time. He was very welcoming and made me feel at home. I'll stay here again next time I come to Tokyo. Thank you!

We had a memorable stay thanks to Takeo.
His traditional house is very beautiful and the room is spacious with everything you need.
This was our first trip to Japan, and it was great to start our trip with a welcome like the one Takeo gave us. Guided tours of the area, recommendations for visits and restaurants, Takeo even accompanied us to the station for our departure. His generosity, his welcome and all his kind attentions made our stay a memorable one!
We highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a comforting, authentic place to stay!

A family of three stayed at Tack Opsang's house. It's not a common self-check-in studio-type Airbnb, hotel, or hostel, but an Airbnb where you live with the host.
So it was an even more special experience for our family. It is a cozy and affectionate two-story wooden house with an exotic atmosphere like a Japanese drama set. It was also a special and good experience for the child who came with us.
I was very grateful that Takeo-san warmly took care of our family throughout our stay. I was really grateful for the fresh breakfast, the wonderful photo gift from Takeosang, and the hot pads, throat candies, and masks that he gave me every morning.
Highly recommended for groups of 3-4 people who want to feel the local sensibility of Tokyo.
PS. Thank you for everything, Takeosang.
